Last year in 2008 I asked Duncan if he would cut my lawns for me as the contractor I was using was going to increase their fee by 5 pounds. As I am disabled I could not afford the extra money. Duncan said he would mow my lawns both front and back for the same amount as my previous contractor did the year before for 10 pounds. He always comes when he says he will, unless it is raining, they never come as they have high standards and will not mow in the rain. He will come the following day, if it is fine. I think he supplies a very good service to the community and would recommend him and his employees to anyone.

Duncan and his team started maintaining my garden in April 2008. I had known Duncan for quite some time before he became my new gardener. He had worked on our garden when we had it re-developed, which was done by Shackletons in 2000. He was part of the team who did all of the building work, laying flag stones, building raised beds, and dry stone walls etc. I have had quite a few maintenance companies’ work in my gardens over the years, all of which I had to cancel due to bad workmanship or just not good value for money. I remembered how hard of a worker Duncan was in his initial days with Shackletons.
When I saw Duncan in Whalley one day in his work van, I asked him if he would please have a look at my garden as I needed someone to maintain it for me, Duncan said ‘it would be a pleasure to return to my home, given it was my first ever place as a gardener’. His team of men set about cutting back both my large gardens, in a very well organized way. They are all very diligent and so hard working. It is such a pleasure to know that all work will be done to such a high standard. Duncan works hand in hand with his employee’s setting both the pace and the attitude. My garden consists of both a front and back garden which are both very large. The way they work together as a team shows that they all have the same values that Duncan has for his clients. All of his team are very polite, willing and above all hard working. I would recommend D Thomas garden services to anyone looking to find a reliable professional service.
